The Sims 4's June 30 patch is live across PC, Mac, and consoles. After May's bigger content drop with base layers and new items, this one is almost entirely focused on fixes, with over 80 bug squashes in the official patch notes and a handful of quality-of-life changes that should make daily play noticeably smoother.

Here's what matters most and what's still on the to-do list.

Moola gets a simpler checkout and more price tiers

The Marketplace's virtual currency has been a sore point since launch, and EA is clearly trying to reduce the friction. A new "simplified purchase flow" now lets you buy a Maker Pack or Kit and automatically purchase the exact amount of Moola needed in one step, rather than manually buying currency first and then spending it.

Nine new Moola denominations have been added: 300, 400, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1100, 1200, and 1300. The goal is to match every current Maker Pack price so you're not stuck with leftover currency after a purchase. Sims Community's testing confirmed that none of the Maker Packs they checked left excess Moola when using the new tiers.

Two things to know: the new denominations only show up when buying through the "Buy" button on a specific pack or through the EA app. If you click "Get Moola" from inside the Marketplace browser, only the original five options appear. And PlayStation players don't have the simplified flow yet; EA says it's coming in a future update.

Gallery browsing and lot placement are more stable

If you've been hit by infinite loading screens, "No Results" errors, or soft locks when placing complex gallery lots, this patch targets those problems directly. The fixes focus on lots built with placement cheats like bb.moveobjects, which were a common trigger for freezes.

Sims Community ran a stress test, placing and replacing multiple 64x64 lots worth over 搂1,000,000 each in a single session. No infinite loading screens appeared, and no save corruption was detected. They did get one crash after repeatedly placing and replacing massive lots back to back, but that seems more like a memory issue than the gallery bug that's been plaguing players.

Gallery search and browsing also showed improvement. Asset-heavy lots still take longer to load thumbnails, but the endless loading loops that often resulted in false "No Results" pages didn't appear during testing. For players who rely on the gallery for builds, this should be a noticeable difference.

Silenced phones actually stay silent now

The notification overhaul addresses one of the most complained-about issues in recent months. The Silence Phone interaction now does what it says: while a Sim's phone is silenced, no calls come through, even for Sims with high reputation (Get Famous) or large friend networks.

Festival notifications have also been reworked. You can now toggle off notifications for specific festivals, which is a relief for anyone tired of hearing about events in worlds their Sims don't live in. During extended play sessions with all festival notifications disabled, testing showed the system worked as expected, with one exception: a "Nordhaven Hobby Meetup" notification still slipped through despite all festivals being toggled off and the active household living in Ondarion.

Multiple phone call types have also been toned down or removed, including calls about relationship changes, discovery quests, and the Reaper career.

Royalty & Legacy dynasty fixes

Two specific issues with the dynasty system from Royalty & Legacy got attention here. The Vicious Dynasty Ideal was causing Sims to autonomously perform mean interactions constantly, wrecking relationships with family members and close friends. The fix means Sims will no longer do this on their own; you have to direct them to be mean if that's the dynasty's vibe.

The other fix addresses the flood of notifications about children leaving and rejoining dynasties every time you exited Create-a-Sim. Testing with a household of adopted children showed no repeat notifications after entering and exiting CAS.

Smaller fixes worth knowing about

A few other long-standing bugs got patched:

Entering CAS from a community lot mirror no longer teleports your Sim back to their home lot. Previously, planning outfits on a community lot meant sitting through an unnecessary loading screen to get sent home, then another to travel back. That's gone now.

Partner relationships no longer revert to "Household Member" when you enter Create-a-Sim. The bug affected Sims with the Romantic Partner relationship, and testing with cas.fulleditmode confirmed the fix holds.

The hand fan from the Lady Bridgerton's Masquerade Ball login event works properly now. Both the "fan self" interaction and the ability to pick it up were broken; both adult and child Sims can use it as intended after the patch.

Base layers from the May patch got texture improvements, particularly fixing breast shadow artifacts on masculine-framed Sims and smoothing out turtleneck seam issues on female Sims.

What's still not fixed

A few things slipped through. The infant milestone "First Visit to Family Member" works for biological relatives but doesn't trigger for adopted infants visiting family members, even when the family tree recognizes the relationship. Sims Community tested this specifically with adopted grandchildren and couldn't get the milestone to fire.

The base layer turtleneck fix also has a gap: the texture distortions are gone for Sims whose body type matches their gender setting, but they still appear on male Sims with feminine frames and female Sims with masculine frames.
