On the Job: Fight Crime in The Sims!

Posted by AlexanderAhlsen, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 A new blog post with fresh images from the detective career just went up on the official The Sims site β€” you can read it right here!

** We hope you enjoyed last week's blog post, which gave you a peek at what a working day looks like when you play as a doctor in The Sims 4 Get to Work** and all the drama that unfolds.

This week we're taking a closer look at the Detective career. Check out our latest video, which explores life on the job as a detective Sim in The Sims 4 Get to Work.

Now let's take a look at the life of Tate Rackett, a young detective working his way up the ranks with dreams of one day becoming Police Chief.

On the Job: Fight Crime in The Sims!

The day starts at 4:00 a.m. when the phone rings. It's a cold morning, pitch dark outside. Detective Rackett grabs his badge and a cup of coffee β€” black, naturally β€” and heads to the scene: a popular club that mysteriously caught fire the night before. He arrives and begins surveying the area. This isn't the first fire this week. Rackett is waiting for the criminal to slip up and leave behind a clue that could crack the case. Maybe today is the day.

Tracking down the Sim behind this string of crimes isn't just another case for Rackett β€” it's personal. Fifteen long Sim days ago, Rackett lost a close friend in a tragic fire. Inexplicably, the friend had been trapped in a room with no doors, and there was no way to save him.

Rackett takes a closer look at the scene and finds a few items to dust for fingerprints. He collects some evidence samples and is just about to head back to the station when someone taps him on the shoulder. He turns to find himself face to face with a pretty, blonde Sim in workout clothes β€” the first witness.

She had been out jogging that day, right before her shift at the hospital. Rackett takes down the details and hurries back to the station, where a fully equipped lab awaits. He runs all the evidence through the chemical analyser, hoping to uncover new details about the suspect.

According to the eyewitness report, the suspect appears to be a fit, adult male. Rackett pulls out his phone and puts out a bulletin.

Rackett finally gets the lead he needs to crack the mystery. A Sim matching the description has been spotted at a local park.

Realising there are many Sims in the area, he begins questioning them one by one, hoping someone can point out the suspect he's after. He needs to be sure. Last week he arrested the wrong Sim, and that was thoroughly embarrassing.

Just then, out of the corner of his eye, he spots a Sim doing push-ups. It's the prime suspect β€” time to make an arrest.

Back at the station, Rackett takes the suspect to booking β€” searching him, taking a mugshot, and getting fingerprints on file. It's been a long day, and now Rackett feels like making things a little uncomfortable. He locks the suspect in a cell and leaves him to stew. He heads upstairs to pump some iron, grab a bite to eat, and unwind. After a while, he returns to the cell, brings the suspect out, and sits him down at the interrogation table. He works through every tool at his disposal β€” starting out as the good cop, switching to the bad cop, and finally laying out all the evidence against the suspect.

It works. The suspect confesses. Another case closed.

It's been a long day, and Rackett heads home to kick back on the sofa with his favourite drink, a Dark and Stormy. Another successful day as a detective wraps up in The Sims 4 Get to Work.

We hope you enjoyed this sneak peek at the Detective career. Next week we'll be exploring the exciting life of a scientist. Stay tuned!
