The Sims 4's web Gallery has been overhauled for the first time since it originally launched alongside the base game back in 2014. The Sims Team confirmed the change today, noting the platform has been moved to EA's newer web infrastructure.
What changed
The refreshed Gallery website replaces the aging interface with a modernized layout that brings several practical improvements:
- Functional search (the old version's search was notoriously unreliable)
- Pack filters, so you can narrow results to content that matches your owned DLC
- Individual detail pages for Lots and Households showing which packs and items were used
- The ability to post comments directly on creations
- An "Add to Library" button that queues downloads for next time you open the game
The Sims Team posted this brief statement: "Simmers, You may notice a refreshed look for The Sims 4 Gallery on the web today. We've moved it to EA's newer web platform as part of ongoing site updates."
Some rough edges during the transition
Not everything is working perfectly yet. The "Packs You Need" section on individual uploads is not displaying accurate information at the moment, which somewhat undercuts one of the update's best new features. If you rely on checking pack requirements before downloading a build, double-check against the lot description or creator notes until EA finishes stabilizing the data.
This is a notable quality-of-life improvement for players who browse builds outside the game, whether at work, on a phone, or just planning their next save. The old web Gallery had fallen so far behind the in-game version that many players had stopped using it entirely. Combined with recent updates like the phone silence toggle, it is part of a broader push to clean up long-standing annoyances in The Sims 4's infrastructure.
