The Sims 4 patch 1.126.58 is live across all platforms today, and it is a significant one. Autosave is finally here, Memory Boost expands to consoles, and a handful of free CAS items round out what amounts to one of the better quality-of-life updates in recent memory.
If you have auto-updates enabled in the EA App, the patch should already be waiting. Otherwise, click the game in your library to trigger the manual download. Confirm you are on the correct version by checking Documents > EA > The Sims 4 > GameVersion.txt:

Autosave and save reminders
After nearly 12 years without it, The Sims 4 now has a working autosave system. It runs in the background and creates save points at configurable moments: after traveling between lots, after a set period of playtime, or at gameplay milestones. All of this is adjustable under Save Settings in the options menu.
There is also a separate Save Reminders option. Rather than saving automatically, it prompts you to create a manual save at whatever frequency you choose. If you prefer full control over your save files but still want a safety net against forgetting, this is the setting to use.
Memory Boost on all platforms
Memory Boost, which previously launched on PC, is now available on Mac and consoles. The feature changes how the game manages memory during play, targeting reduced lag, better frame rates, and shorter loading times. EA says the improvements are most noticeable during long sessions, in large households, or on heavily decorated lots.

New CAS items and Starter Sims
Eight new Starter Sims and eight culturally inspired accessories join Create-a-Sim for free. The accessories draw from Caribbean, Indigenous, Latin American, and South Asian cultures. These are base-game additions available to everyone.
This patch also brings the Coach Repurposed Capsule and the Music Den Kit to the Marketplace, though those items arrive on their own schedule later this month.
Notification controls and PlayStation Quick Buy
Building on earlier notification changes from the June 30 update, this patch adds toggles for specific festivals and events. If Spice Festival popups have been driving you up the wall, you can now turn them off individually.
Marketplace Quick Buy, which lets you purchase items directly from build/buy without leaving the lot, is now available on PlayStation for the first time.
Bug fixes
Three community-reported issues received targeted fixes:
- Corrupted lots appearing in saves with many Residential Rentals have been addressed through Memory Boost improvements.
- Disappearing roof sections in Build Mode are fixed.
- Crashes after playing for a few Sim hours, related to caching issues, are resolved.
The corrupted-lot fix is especially notable since that bug could effectively destroy saves for players who used vacation rentals heavily.
