EA has launched a browser-based version of The Sims 4 Marketplace, letting players browse every available DLC and buy packs directly from the website without opening the game or the EA App. The site went live today and covers the full catalogue: Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs, Kits, and Maker Packs.
What the website actually does
The Sims 4 Marketplace website mirrors the in-game storefront almost feature-for-feature. Each pack has a dedicated page with screenshots, descriptions, and a purchase button. Once you sign in with your EA Account, anything you buy is added to your library automatically, just like purchasing through the EA App.
One notable addition is cross-platform support. You can switch between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox from the same page, meaning console players can now buy packs from a browser and have them ready to download next time they launch the game.
The navigation bar also links out to The Sims 4 Gallery and the official News section, so the site doubles as a quick reference hub when you are away from your PC or console.
What it does not replace
You still need the EA App (or your console's store) to download, install, and launch The Sims 4. The website is a storefront, not a launcher.
There is also a synchronization issue worth flagging. According to testing by Sims Community, some already-owned Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs, and Kits still appear as available for purchase rather than being marked as owned. Maker Packs seem to sync correctly, but the rest is inconsistent. If you are checking your library to see what you still need, double-check inside the EA App or your console's download list until EA patches this.
Stack and Save comes to the web
The website includes the Stack and Save discount system, which replaced the old Build Your Own Bundle feature. The tiers apply automatically when you add eligible packs to your cart:
- 2 packs: 10% off
- 3 packs: 20% off
- 4 packs: 25% off
- 5 or more packs: 30% off
- 25 or more packs: 40% off
Kits, Maker Packs, Moola, and existing bundles are excluded from the promotion. Everything else (Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs) qualifies.
Top five most downloaded Maker Packs
To mark the website launch, EA revealed which Maker Packs have been downloaded the most since the programme began:
- Essential Lashes by Miiko
- Urban Refined by TwistedCat
- Artsy Boho Bedroom by TaurusSnazzy
- Living Room by Syboulette
- Stiletto Slice by MADLEN
The list leans heavily toward CAS and furniture content, which tracks with the kind of items the community has historically sought out through custom content. If you have been keeping up with the weekly Maker Pack drops, like the recent Coach Capsule Collection, the new site makes tracking future releases considerably easier than loading the game every Wednesday.
For now, it is a convenience upgrade rather than anything groundbreaking, but it removes one more friction point between players and EA's growing catalogue of paid and free content.
