A city-building series from EA

SimCity is a city-building franchise published by EA. Players take on the role of mayor, designing and creating their own metropolis while making the choices that keep citizens happy and the skyline growing. As cities get larger and more intricate, every decision counts. The series spans PC, Mac, and mobile platforms.

Games in the franchise

EA's SimCity catalog covers several titles across decades of city-building gameplay.

SimCity 2000 is one of the earliest entries still featured in EA's official lineup. SimCity 4, released in September 2003, lets players sculpt mountains, dig riverbeds, and seed forests before laying the groundwork for a city. Its Rush Hour expansion extends the base game further. SimCity 4 is available on PC through Steam and the EA app.

SimCity (2013) brought the series to PC and Mac with a new engine. Players create a city and make choices that shape its development and power the Sims within it. Add-on packs like Cities of Tomorrow extended the game with additional content.

SimCity BuildIt is the most popular city builder on mobile. It features strategic building placement, resource management, multiplayer trading and club competitions, and seasonal content with themed locations and exclusive landmarks.
