Paralives' next patch will let players drag the item catalogue to any width they want in both Paramaker and Build Mode, a small but meaningful change to how you browse clothing, furniture, and other objects during creative sessions.
The feature was previewed by the Paralives team in an eight-second clip showing the resize in action across both modes.
How it works in Paramaker
The catalogue starts at a narrow two-column layout showing clothing thumbnails alongside the Para you're customizing. Grabbing the edge of the panel and pulling it outward adds columns progressively, up to four columns of items at its widest in the preview. Shrinking it back down returns screen space to your Para so you can see how an outfit looks without the catalogue dominating your view.
The trade-off is straightforward: wider catalogue means faster browsing through a large wardrobe, while a narrower panel keeps your character visible for styling decisions.
Build Mode gets the same resize
The same drag-to-resize interaction applies to the furniture catalogue in Build Mode. Starting from a compact view, expanding the panel reveals additional columns of furniture items while still keeping part of your build visible on screen. For players accumulating a growing library of objects, especially with Paralives' active modding scene, being able to widen the catalogue on the fly should cut down on scrolling.
Why Sims players will recognize this request
If you're coming from The Sims 4, you've probably seen this exact feature requested for years. The base game locks players into a fixed catalogue width, and while mods like UI Cheats and Better Build/Buy add extra rows, those mods can break with every patch and need updating. Having the resize built directly into the game means it works out of the box and won't need maintenance after future updates.
It's a small quality-of-life addition, but the kind that compounds over hundreds of hours spent in creative modes. No release date for the patch has been announced beyond "next patch," but given that Patch 0.1.7 just landed today with food storage and baby overhauls, this feature may be part of the following update cycle.
