Free updates during early access

InZOI receives regular free updates while it remains in early access on PC. Rather than selling expansion packs, Krafton rolls new systems, careers, worlds, and quality-of-life fixes into numbered patches released roughly each month. Director Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim publishes developer diaries alongside major patches to explain design decisions and outline what comes next. SimGoodie's developer diary and roadmap coverage breaks down those announcements as they arrive.

Fundamentals First and the 2026 roadmap

In late December 2025, Kjun laid out a year-long roadmap built around the idea of "Fundamentals First," a commitment to strengthening core gameplay before chasing new features. The plan splits the year into quarterly milestones. Q1 2026 introduced expanded careers including beauty and police roles, a reputation system, high school campuses, flower farming, memory tracking, and new European and Hanok architectural styles. Q2 2026 brought freelance careers such as writing, photography, and game development, along with a prison system, voice customization, and K-pop performance content. Q3 and Q4 shift focus toward teenager part-time jobs, an event memory and diary system, curved wall support, basement construction, and terrain editing tools.

A separate modding roadmap runs alongside the content plan, with milestones for in-game mod management, expanded ModKit support for accessories and motions, vehicle modding, and Lua script modding by the end of 2026.

Recent patch highlights

Update 0.9.0 added active high schools with classes, clubs, and prom, clothing store businesses, experimental first-person and driving modes, and expanded baby mechanics. The April 2026 patch migrated the game to Unreal Engine 5.6, introduced new careers across all cities, and added freelance opportunities. Meanwhile, the PS5 version of inZOI has been delayed to the first half of 2027 so that Krafton can build console-optimized controls, a redesigned UI, and DualSense integration.
