Werewolf life state
Werewolves introduces a new occult life state to The Sims 4. Sims can become werewolves by being bitten or by being born into a werewolf family. Once turned, they gain a fury meter that builds over time and through specific triggers called temperaments. When fury maxes out, the werewolf loses control and goes on a rampage until it subsides. The full moon intensifies fury gain and can force automatic transformations.
Each werewolf Sim is assigned up to four temperaments from a pool of 22, and these shape which everyday actions raise or lower fury. A Sim with the Carnivore temperament, for example, gains fury after eating anything other than raw meat. Temperaments are assigned when a Sim first turns, giving each werewolf a distinct personality and set of triggers to manage.
Ranks, abilities, and pack allegiance
Werewolves progress through five ranks: Pup, Runt, Prime, Veteran, and Apex. Each rank awards Ability Points that can be spent in an ability tree to unlock new powers, similar to the systems used by vampires and spellcasters in their respective packs.
Sims can join one of two rival packs in Moonwood Mill. The Moonwood Collective is a peaceful, family-oriented group based near the lake in the north of the world. The Wildfangs are a rebellious crew occupying the southern side. Players can also choose to stay a lone wolf. At the top of the mountain, a location called Howling Point, werewolf Sims can meet a fated mate.
Moonwood Mill
The pack ships with Moonwood Mill, a small forested world built around a faded lumber town. It has a single neighborhood containing five lots: two residential, a library, a bar, and one empty lot. Four special locations sit outside the standard lot grid, including the two pack territories, the mountain peak at Howling Point, and the home of Greg, a notoriously powerful lone werewolf tied to much of the pack's lore.
An underground tunnel network runs beneath the town. Werewolf Sims can explore these tunnels and use them to travel between locations that are otherwise not accessible. The lore woven through Moonwood Mill also connects to vampire and spellcaster storylines from other packs.
Create a Sim and build mode content
The pack adds 110 Create a Sim items covering clothing, hairstyles, accessories, and werewolf appearance options. Build mode receives 89 new objects, including furniture, décor, and building materials that fit the world's forest-industrial look.
