What is The Sims 4 Marketplace
The Sims 4 Marketplace is the official in-game storefront where players discover and purchase content without leaving the game. It launched on PC and Mac on March 17, 2026, and arrived on PlayStation and Xbox on April 16, 2026. The Marketplace carries both community-created Maker Packs and official content from the Sims team, including Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs, and Kits. Players must be online while playing The Sims 4 to access it.
On consoles, Kits are now purchased through the in-game Marketplace rather than the PlayStation or Xbox digital storefronts. Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs remain available through console stores as before.
Maker Packs and the Maker Program
Maker Packs are content packs created by approved community creators through the Sims Maker Program. Each pack contains between 3 and 50 Create a Sim or Build/Buy items, and pricing is set by the individual Maker within platform guidelines. Makers earn approximately 30 percent of the Moola from their sales, with EA covering all publishing and distribution costs.
Creators in the program include Serenity, Syboulette, Miiko, SixamCC, Taurus, ValiaSims, AlexCroft, HYDRA, BrazenLotus, Peacemaker, HAENBI, and Boschiana. All Maker Pack content is reviewed and quality-approved by the Sims team before it goes live.
Moola
Moola is the virtual currency used for Marketplace purchases. It is sold in tiers ranging from $2.49 USD for 200 Moola to $49.99 USD for 5,500 Moola. Moola cannot be transferred, traded, or gifted between players.
Free Maker Drops
Starting June 11, 2026, a six-week pilot program introduced free weekly Maker Drops to the Marketplace. New free items appear each week and remain available to claim for four weeks, with the final window closing on August 13. Players can find them by filtering for free content in the Marketplace.
Early drops included Sit Next to Me by Taurus, a Build/Buy set with a loveseat and sofa, and Velvet Bow Heels by Miiko, a Create a Sim item. Later weeks added packs from SixamCC, ValiaSims, Boschiana, Syboulette, and others. On July 2, three new Maker Packs landed on the Marketplace, including the free Astronaut Dream Bed and Cozy Study Corner teaser packs alongside the paid Fresh Picked Kitchen set.
