A desert town with a dark secret

StrangerVille is a game pack for The Sims 4 released on February 26, 2019. It introduces a new world called StrangerVille, a rural desert town where something has gone very wrong. Residents wander around in a possessed state, mumbling about a mysterious "Mother Plant," while strange blue plants have spread across the landscape. The world includes nine residential lots, two community lots, and a special 64x64 multi-level lot that plays a central role in the story. The pack is categorized under the Supernatural and Fantasy theme on the EA Store.

The StrangerVille mystery

StrangerVille is the first Sims 4 pack built around a linear storyline. Players follow the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration to investigate the town's infection step by step: talking to locals, collecting secret dossiers and spore clusters, and exploring a hidden underground laboratory filled with strange plants and peculiar devices. The trail eventually leads to a confrontation with the Mother Plant, the source of the infection that has taken hold of the town's residents. Completing the mystery awards the Hero of StrangerVille reward trait, which grants periodic fan mail and lets your Sim share their heroic story with other Sims.

Military career and new traits

The pack adds the military career, which splits into two branches. The Officer branch focuses on Charisma and works daytime hours, while the Covert Operator branch relies on Logic and runs evening and night shifts. Both branches award promotion medals as Sims advance. StrangerVille also introduces the Paranoid trait, a social trait for teens and older that makes Sims prefer isolation, enjoy time in basements, and accuse others of spying.

Create a Sim and build mode content

StrangerVille comes with new CAS items including desert-inspired clothing, military fatigues, conspiracy-themed outfits, and hazmat suits. Build and Buy mode adds over 100 new objects themed around Western decor and laboratory equipment, including listening devices and lava lamps.
