What the kit includes
The Restoration Workshop Kit adds 23 new objects and one wall swatch to Build/Buy mode. The centerpiece is a set of four Astroluxe brand appliances, a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and stove, that arrive in a broken, rusty state when placed. Alongside those appliances, the kit provides workbenches, modular shelving, tool chests, a fuse box, a water heater, a functional floor fan, a sink, storage boxes, and cluttered wall shelves. Floor decor pieces simulate sawdust, grease, and grime, while a wall swatch offers rough paint and bare plaster for a lived-in workshop look.
Restoration gameplay
The main gameplay loop centers on the Handiness skill. After placing one of the four broken appliances, Sims can use a Restore interaction to fix it up and make it functional again. At Handiness level 1, larger appliances like the refrigerator and stove take around five hours to restore, while smaller items like the coffee maker and microwave need roughly two and a half hours. This gives the Handiness skill a dedicated activity beyond reading skill books or waiting for household items to break on their own.
The fuse box and water heater also have maintenance and upgrade options, adding more ways for handy Sims to interact with their workshop space.
Building a workshop
The kit's objects are designed for creating garage or workshop areas. Two workbenches come with multiple color swatches and worn versions, and a cluttered desk offers a clutter slot for extra detail. Shelving units combine empty metal-and-wood frames with pre-cluttered wall shelves stocked with tools and hardware. Rolling tool chests, toolboxes, and storage tubs round out the storage options. An upturned bucket doubles as a seat, and a strip lighting fixture handles workshop illumination.
The floor fan provides a cold breeze, making it functional as well as decorative. Appliances placed in their broken state cannot be duplicated or have their swatch changed, so plan placement carefully before restoring them.
