What the pack adds
Realm of Magic is a game pack for The Sims 4 that introduces spellcasters, a new occult life state. Sims become spellcasters by completing a quest in Glimmerbrook, a residential world set in a mountainous forest. A portal in Glimmerbrook leads to the Magic Realm, a hidden floating neighborhood where the three Sages of magic reside. The pack includes 56 Create-a-Sim items covering magical outfits, hairstyles, and accessories, along with 79 Build/Buy objects including cauldrons, spell-themed furniture, and styled rooms.
Spellcasters and the three schools of magic
Spellcasters draw from three schools. Practical magic focuses on helpful spells like repairing broken objects and conjuring meals. Mischief magic covers pranks and manipulation, including transforming other Sims into objects or sparking romantic situations. Untamed magic deals in destructive forces such as fire attacks and summoning the dead.
Spellcasters progress through six ranks, from Neophyte to Virtuoso, unlocking new perks and spells at each stage. Casting spells builds up a resource called magical charge. If charge climbs too high, spell failures and curses become more likely, and a dangerously overcharged spellcaster risks fatal consequences. Each of the three Sages in the Magic Realm teaches spells from their school, and master-rank spellcasters can learn an ultimate spell from each Sage.
Familiars, potions, and bloodlines
Spellcasters can summon familiars as magical companions and protectors. Available types include dragons, fairies, phoenixes, ravens, skulls, and glowfrogs. Potions are brewed at a cauldron using collectible ingredients like mandrake and valerian root. Recipes range from a Potion of Immortality to brews that remove curses or reset perk points.
Children born to spellcasters inherit bloodline traits: Weak, Strong, or Ancient. Each tier reduces overcharge risk and grants bonus talent points per rank, and the trait grows stronger across generations when both parents practice magic.
Glimmerbrook and the Magic Realm
Glimmerbrook is a small residential world with pre-built lots including homes for the Charm family and the Amicable Acolytes, plus a bar called Elixirs and Brews. The Magic Realm itself is split into four areas: the Sage Headquarters, the Dueling Grounds where spellcasters can challenge each other, Casters Alley with vendor stalls for buying supplies, and the Gardens. Weather in the Magic Realm stays locked to mystical clouds regardless of season settings.
