What the pack adds
Perfect Patio Stuff is a stuff pack for The Sims 4, released on June 16, 2015. It centers on outdoor relaxation and entertaining, headlined by the introduction of hot tubs to the game. The pack also brings a new barbecue grill, patio furniture, outdoor decor, and casual warm-weather clothing. Around 30 build/buy objects and 12 Create a Sim items are included.
Hot tubs were later added to the base game in a 2021 update, but Perfect Patio Stuff still offers its own distinct hot tub designs alongside the wider set of outdoor furnishings.
Hot tub gameplay
Two hot tub models come with the pack, each holding up to eight Sims at once. Children can use them too, which was a first for the franchise at the time of release. Soaking in a hot tub raises both happiness and hygiene, and Sims can also nap in the water when tired. Romantic interactions include WooHoo, Try for Baby, kissing, and massages. A skinny dipping option is available as well.
Sims with the Handiness skill can apply three upgrades. Aromatherapy, available at level 3, lets you choose an oil that shifts your Sim's mood: Jasmine for happiness, Lemon for energy, Peppermint for playfulness, and Sage for focus. A hidden fifth oil called Thioacetone causes negative effects and requires specific traits, skills, and career progress to access. The stereo upgrade at level 5 adds music playback, and the unbreakable upgrade at level 8 prevents the hot tub from breaking under normal use.
Build mode and Create a Sim
The build/buy catalog gains outdoor loungers, dining sets, the new grill, plants, sculptures, and decorative clutter for assembling a patio scene. Hot tub light colors can be adjusted to your preference. A Backyard radio station with five original songs adds atmosphere to outdoor lots.
On the CAS side, the pack provides swimwear, slim-fit polos, casual outfits, and one new hairstyle each for masculine and feminine frames, plus a children's hairstyle. There are no new bottoms, accessories, shoes, or makeup items in this pack.
