What Lovestruck adds
Lovestruck is an expansion pack for The Sims 4, released on July 25, 2024. It reworks romance with a new attraction system built around Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs, a Romantic Satisfaction meter that tracks how well each partner's preferences are being met, and four Relationship Dynamics: Wholesome, Steamy, Strained, and Unpredictable. These dynamics shift based on how Sims interact over time. A free base game update released alongside the pack introduced Romantic Boundaries, letting any Sim set their own rules around physical and emotional exclusivity.
The pack includes two new traits (Romantically Reserved and Lovebug), two aspirations (Paragon Partner and Romantic Explorer), two new fears (Fear of Intimacy and Fear of Being Alone), and the Singles Hangout lot trait. In total there are 152 Create-a-Sim items and 188 Build Mode items.
Cupid's Corner and custom dates
Every Sim gains access to Cupid's Corner, an in-phone dating app where players create a profile, browse other Sims, and find matches based on compatibility. Once matched, players can plan custom dates by picking a venue, choosing activities, and setting date goals. New romantic interactions include cuddling in bed, a Romantic Blanket for scenic spots, sultry dances, new kisses, and three additional WooHoo locations. A recent update to The Sims 4 added the ability to silence phone notifications, which can help manage the calls that come with an active dating life.
Romance skill and career
Lovestruck introduces the Romance skill, which Sims level up through romantic socialization. Higher skill levels open more expressive interactions like steamy make-outs and deeper emotional connections. Sims who want to make a living out of love can become Romance Consultants and earn new rewards as they advance through the career.
Ciudad Enamorada
The pack's world, Ciudad Enamorada, draws from Mexico City with colorful buildings and lush greenery. It has three neighborhoods: Vista Hermosa, a central area with walking paths and green spaces; Plaza Mariposa, a residential suburb; and Nuevo Corazón, an upscale district with high-rises and penthouse suites. Venues across the world include the Mirador del Amor nightclub, Laguna del Abrazo dive bar, Sudor gym, and Beso Rápido hotel.
