What the pack includes
Kids Room Stuff is a stuff pack for The Sims 4, released on June 28, 2016, under the Family & Friends category. It focuses entirely on child Sims, adding around 41 build and buy mode items alongside 30 Create a Sim items. Furniture and decorations cover playful themes like space robots and flowers, all designed to personalize children's bedrooms. On the CAS side, children get new hairstyles and contemporary clothing options.
Voidcritter cards and battles
The main gameplay addition in Kids Room Stuff is the Voidcritter card collection system. Child Sims can collect and trade Voidcritter cards, each representing a different fictional creature. Cards can be found using the "Look for Discarded Toys" interaction on logs and trash cans, traded with other children, or purchased as booster packs on a computer.
Collected cards come to life in the Voidcritter Battle Station, an electronic object where children challenge each other to creature duels. The battle station gives child Sims a social activity that ties directly into the card collecting loop.
Puppet theater
The pack also includes a puppet theater. Child Sims can put on puppet shows for an audience of family and friends, and performing helps build the Social skill. As a child's Social skill increases, new puppet shows become available. The puppet theater works as a quieter alternative to the battle station for children who spend more time at home.
TV channel and build mode items
Kids Room Stuff introduces the BEtween TV channel, which Sims of all ages can watch on any in-game television. The build and buy catalog additions include beds, desks, and themed bedroom furniture in bright color palettes, along with styled rooms that can be placed directly from the catalog. Decorative options range from space robot wall art to floral accents, giving builders a wide set of motifs to work with when setting up a child's room.
