Sulani and island life
Island Living introduces Sulani, a tropical archipelago made up of three neighborhoods: Ohan'ali Town, Lani St. Taz, and Mua Pel'am. The world has 14 lots spread across its islands, surrounded by clear waters, coral reefs, and beaches, with an active volcano looming over Mua Pel'am. Sims can swim in open water, paddle canoes, ride water scooters, build sandcastles, sunbathe to pick up a natural tan or a sunburn, snorkel, take underwater photos, and gather around pit barbecues and beach bonfires. Mua Pel'am also supports off-the-grid living, with three uninhabited lots including an empty lot, a shipwreck, and an off-the-grid house.
Mermaids
Mermaids return as a playable life state. Sims can become a mermaid by eating Mermaidic Kelp, being born to mermaid parents, or being created directly in Create a Sim with both a human form and a mermaid form. Mermaids replace the standard Hygiene need with Hydration, which they maintain by swimming, showering, bathing, or drinking water.
Careers, traits, and aspirations
The pack adds a full-time Conservationist career and three part-time jobs: Lifeguard, Fisherman, and Diver. Two new traits shape how Sims relate to Sulani. Child of the Islands gives Sims an ancestral bond with the world and the ability to summon island elementals, ancient spirits who watch over the land. Child of the Ocean gives Sims positive moods during water activities. The Beach Life aspiration takes Sims through four stages from Tourist to Beach Fixture and rewards the Laid-Back trait, which prevents Sims from ever becoming tense.
Conservation and island restoration
Cleaning up beaches in Mua Pel'am contributes to restoring the neighborhood's natural beauty. As the environment improves, the surrounding wildlife responds, and dedicated conservationists can eventually summon a rare albino dolphin. The conservation system ties into the Conservationist career and gives Mua Pel'am a visible, changing state based on player effort. The pack also includes 136 Create a Sim items and 182 Build/Buy objects spanning tropical clothing, swimwear, tiki bar furnishings, and island-themed decor.
