What High School Years adds
High School Years is the twelfth expansion pack for The Sims 4, released on July 28, 2022. It focuses on the teenage life stage, giving players direct control over their teen Sims during the school day for the first time. Teens attend classes at Copperdale High, interact with teachers, take weekly exams, eat in the cafeteria, and decorate their lockers. The pack includes 198 Create a Sim items and 260 build/buy objects.
Outside of class, teens can join one of four after-school activities: football, cheerleading, chess club, or computer club. Members can compete alongside teammates and take part in events like science fairs. Teens who skip class or cause trouble may land in detention, and a three-strikes discipline system can lead to expulsion.
Prom, graduation, and social life
Two marquee events anchor the high school experience. Prom lets Sims craft promposal signs, pick outfits, and vote for prom royalty. Graduation wraps up the school arc, with the ceremony reflecting each Sim's academic record and choices along the way.
The pack also introduces the Trendi app, an in-game social media platform where Sims curate outfits and earn Simoleons as Simfluencers. The ThrifTea thrift store in Copperdale stocks fashion items and bubble tea, tying into the pack's focus on teen self-expression.
Bedrooms are more interactive with this pack installed. Teen Sims can use tablets, read, have pillow fights, and sneak out at night through a window using a trellis ladder. New prank interactions include whiteboard vandalism and locker pranks.
Copperdale
The pack ships with Copperdale, a former mining town on the banks of Lake LaSuli. It is split into three neighborhoods: Plumbite Cove, Prescott Square, and Rockridge Heights. Copperdale High is a special lot type that can only be placed in this world, though teen Sims from any world can attend.
Plumbite Pier sits on the lakefront and doubles as a date spot, featuring a ferris wheel, haunted house, tunnel of love, and a photobooth. The rest of the town offers residential and community lots for building out the neighborhood.
