Family dynamics and social compatibility
Growing Together reshapes how Sims relate to each other across every age group. A social compatibility system determines which Sims naturally click and which ones clash, influencing the tone of their interactions and whether friendships or rivalries develop. Family dynamics add another layer, shaping how related Sims behave around each other based on shared experiences. Arguments, bonding moments, and everyday interactions all feed into these dynamics, creating families that feel different from household to household.
Life events push Sims through changes at every stage. Adults can face a midlife crisis, deal with a sudden job loss, or respond to a family member's request to move in. Personality traits can shift over time based on these experiences, so a Sim who starts out one way may grow into someone quite different.
Infants, toddlers, and growing up
The pack introduces 18 discoverable Infant Quirks, with each infant having up to three that shape their behavior. Quirks like Early Riser, Messy Eater, and Snuggly Sleeper make each infant feel distinct. A parallel set of 18 Toddler Quirks carries that individuality forward as Sims age up. Children get four new aspirations (Slumber Party Animal, Mind and Body, Playtime Captain, and Creative Genius) along with a confidence system tied to milestones like losing teeth. Elders take on their own role as keepers of the family Keepsake Box, sharing Life Lessons and Reminiscing with younger Sims.
Three social events round out the generational focus: Baby Showers, Family Reunions, and Slumber Parties.
