Residential rental lots
For Rent adds a Residential Rental lot type that lets you build multi-family dwellings where several Sim households live on the same lot. You can create basement suites, duplexes, townhomes, or apartment buildings with up to six units, each housing up to eight Sims. These rental lots can be placed in any liveable world, not just Tomarang, giving you plenty of flexibility when planning your builds. The pack includes 205 Build Mode items and 142 Create a Sim items to furnish and style your properties and tenants.
Property management
Your Sim can take on the role of property owner, living on-site among tenants or managing remotely from a separate home. Owners collect rent, run inspections, and handle maintenance problems like mold and insect infestations using utility objects such as the Water Heater and Electrical Fuse Box. Each unit carries a rating that reflects tenant satisfaction, and letting it slip too far can trigger a Tenant Revolt. Sims who prefer working for someone else can pursue the new Handyperson Career instead.
Tomarang
The pack's new world, Tomarang, is a scenic tropical setting inspired by Southeast Asian architecture and community life. The world was developed with cultural consultation from Jason Chu. Sims can browse the Night Market to sample new foods and discover unique items, wander through botanical gardens, or visit an animal sanctuary. New kitchen objects like the pressure cooker and electric kettle tie into the world's food culture.
Neighbor drama and community life
Close quarters bring plenty of social friction. Sims can eavesdrop on neighbors, snoop around other units, or break in to uncover secrets, then use what they find for bribery or blackmail. On the friendlier side, the pack introduces Potluck and Pool Party events that bring the building together. Children get new outdoor activities including marbles and hopscotch. Five new traits round out the expansion: Nosy, Generous, Cringe, Child of the Village, and the Elder-specific Wise. Four new aspirations (Seeker of Secrets, Five-Star Property Owner, Fount of Tomarani Knowledge, and Discerning Dweller) give tenants and landlords alike something to work toward.
