Dream Home Decorator is the tenth game pack for The Sims 4, released on June 1, 2021. Listed under the Architecture and Décor category on the EA store, it centers on a new active career that lets Sims work as professional interior decorators. The pack does not include a new world, but gigs can be taken across any residential lots you have installed.
Interior Decorator career
The Interior Decorator career is a freelance gig-based job with 10 levels, starting at Interior Colour Consultant and ending at Certified Interior Designer. Instead of reporting to a workplace, your Sim browses available gigs through the career panel and chooses which jobs to accept.
Each gig begins with getting to know the client. You learn their likes, dislikes, hobbies, and budget before making any changes to the space. Ignoring a client's preferences can lower your payment and damage your reputation. Two progress bars, Reputation and Performance, track your standing and determine when promotions open up new gig types. Early levels limit you to single-room renovations, while higher levels let you take on full level additions and commercial spaces.
Once a renovation is finished, you walk the client through a before-and-after reveal to see their reaction. Because the career is self-scheduled, there are no fixed work hours or vacation days.
Build/buy and Create-a-Sim content
Dream Home Decorator shipped with 140 build/buy items, which at the time was the largest build/buy catalogue of any Sims 4 game pack. The collection includes 16 styled rooms and introduces several object types that were new to the game.
Sectional sofas come in two styles, with pieces like corner sections, armless segments, and chaise lounges that snap together and move as one unit. Modular shelving is available in two swatch options with rounded or square corners, featuring a mix of drawers, hangers, shelves, and differently sized units. The pack also adds built-in stovetops, separated ovens, and toaster ovens for more flexible kitchen and room layouts.
On the Create-a-Sim side, the pack includes 59 items covering clothing, hairstyles, and accessories. Career rewards unlock as you level up, with items like overalls, a utili-kilt, a waistcoat-and-shirt combo, design magazines, and a laptop at level 10.
