Restaurant ownership and management

Dine Out introduces a restaurant lot type that can be placed in any existing world. Sims can purchase a restaurant, build it from scratch or renovate a pre-made one, and run it as an active business. As the owner, you hire staff starting with one host, then expand to up to three waiters and two chefs by spending perk points. Staff arrive unskilled and need training, promotions, or direct feedback to improve their service. You can also praise, criticize, or fire employees depending on how they perform.

Perk points are earned as customers dine, employees do their jobs well, and sales come in. These points unlock restaurant perks ranging from temporary 24-hour boosts to permanent upgrades. Every perk applies across all restaurants a Sim owns, so building a chain gives an immediate advantage at each new location. The goal can be anything from a five-star rating to a growing restaurant empire.

Dining out and experimental food

Any Sim can visit a restaurant, check in at the host station, and order from four menu categories: drinks, appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Groups on dates or outings share a table and call a waiter to place their orders together.

The pack adds experimental food, a new recipe type with dishes that Sims learn by eating them at a restaurant and then recreating at home on the chef station. A food photography collection lets Sims snap pictures of their meals, and a Jazz radio station sets the mood in restaurants or at home.

Create a Sim and build mode content

Dine Out includes 28 Create a Sim items covering clothing and hairstyles, along with 137 build mode objects. The build catalog adds chef stations, host and waiter stations, booth seating, signage, and outdoor dining furniture, giving builders everything needed to set up anything from a casual diner to an upscale bistro.
