Gemology skill and jewelry crafting

Crystal Creations introduces the Gemology skill, a crafting system centered on the new Gemology Table. Sims collect crystals and metals from dig spots, rocks scattered across any world, or Crystal Trees grown on their home lot, then cut and set those materials into rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. The pack offers 10 gemstone cuts, including Heart, Plumbob, and Gnome shapes, alongside 22 metals found across The Sims 4 worlds such as Baconite, Death Metal, and Romantium. With all the possible combinations of cuts, metals, and crystals, there are over 1,000 jewelry permutations to create. Finished pieces can be worn, gifted to other Sims, sold for profit, or crafted as custom engagement rings.

Charged crystals and lunar effects

Crystals and finished jewelry can be placed on the Crystal Charging Grid to absorb moonlight energy, a mechanic that ties into the base game's Lunar Cycle system. Once charged, worn pieces influence the wearer's moods, relationships, and career progression. Siminite Crystals, for example, can help a Sim advance in their career. Effects fade over time, so Sims need to recharge their crystals periodically to keep the benefits going.

New crystals, CAS items, and build content

The pack adds three new crystals: Amber (Rare), Jade (Common), and Moonstone (Uncommon), bringing the total number of crystals across all packs to 27. In Create a Sim, there are 85 new items covering clothing and accessories, from crystal slippers and bejeweled leather boots to metallic hoops and jeweled hair pins. A dedicated jewelry set of a necklace, ring, and earrings was designed in collaboration with content creator Arethabee. On the build mode side, the pack includes 32 items ranging from crystal-embedded mirrors and velvet sofas to workroom furniture for setting up a dedicated crafting space.
