Adventure Awaits is the twentieth expansion pack for The Sims 4, released on October 2, 2025. It is categorized under Outdoor Adventures and adds a new world, a getaway scheduling system, custom venues with competition rules, four new skills, imaginary friends for child Sims, and a Park Worker career.
The pack retails for $39.99 and is available on the EA App, Steam, and Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. EA's newer Stack & Save system lets you combine it with other packs for scaling discounts.
Gibbi Point
The pack's new world is Gibbi Point, split into three neighborhoods. Each one has its own feel and a pre-built getaway destination.
Wanderwood Wilds is forest-heavy, with trails, erupting geysers, and a general sense of mystery. Its getaway is Camp Gibbi Gibbi, a traditional kids' camp setup.
Crystal Valley is built around sparkling rock formations and has Love Highland, a romance-themed retreat where Sims can take part in elimination-style dating competitions.
Jellyfish Junction sits along a waterfront with a bioluminescent lagoon. The locals are deeply attached to their jellyfish. Its getaway is Revive & Thrive, a fitness retreat.
Lot sizes in Gibbi Point range from 30x20 to 64x64.
Getaways and custom venues
The headline feature is the getaway system. You can schedule long weekends, summer breaks, or retreats for your Sims, and even set them to recur on a regular basis. The pack ships with three pre-built getaways (one per neighborhood), but the more interesting piece is the custom venue system.
Custom venues let you build your own themed getaway and set rules for how Sims behave while there. You pick a theme (fitness retreat, romantic getaway, cooking competition, bed & breakfast, creativity retreat, senior living, or popularity contest) and assign activity schedules. Elimination rules let you run competitions where Sims are judged on skill gains or relationships, which pairs with the new Competitive trait.
Skills and activities
Adventure Awaits adds four new skills:
- Papercraft for children and adults
- Entomology for bug-catching and insect study
- Diving with diving boards as the primary equipment
- Archery with targets at camp and venue lots
On top of those, the pack brings kayaking, watersliding, fishing, butterfly catching, river panning, spin bikes, free weights, blenders for smoothies and campfire treats, boardwalk festivals, and retro gaming.
Childhood and imaginary friends
This pack reworks childhood in a few ways. The Formative Moments system gives child Sims events that shape their personality, and childhood sentiments can now carry into adulthood.
Imaginary friends are the pack's occult addition. They come as dolls in four styles, each with a distinct personality: Goofball, Creative, Competitive, or Evil. Only the specific child who bonds with the doll can see the imaginary friend, making them invisible to other Sims.
Kids also get modular playgrounds with customizable structures, plus hide-and-seek and rock-paper-scissors as social activities. There is a new aspiration, Cool Kid on the Block, aimed at children.
Park Worker career
The new career is Park Worker, which branches into two paths: Camp Counselor and Park Ranger. Camp Counselors run activities at getaway venues, while Park Rangers focus on maintaining the natural areas of Gibbi Point.
Build and buy
The pack adds diving boards, waterslides, in-ground spa-style hot tubs, modular playground structures, docks, patio heaters, spin bikes, free weights, and blenders. Many of these items tie directly into getaway venues and the new activities.
New trait
The Competitive trait affects how Sims perform in elimination challenges and competitions at custom venues. Sims with this trait are more driven to win and react more strongly to losses.
