Released in November 2008, Mansion & Garden Stuff is the last stuff pack made for The Sims 2. It shipped just months before The Sims 3 launched, closing out the game's run of stuff packs with a focus on upscale home building and outdoor landscaping.
The pack draws from three architectural traditions: Moroccan, Art Deco, and Second Empire. Each style comes with its own matching set of windows, doors, roofing, and fencing, so you can build a cohesive house without mixing unrelated pieces.
Build and buy mode additions
In build mode, new roof types and a roof angle slider are the standout tools. The slider lets you adjust roof pitch freely instead of being locked to the default angles. Solar panels show up as a new roof decoration option.
Garden items make up a big chunk of the pack. Fountains, topiaries, sculptures, flower beds, shrubs, and giant mushrooms give you plenty to work with for both formal and playful outdoor spaces.
Inside the house, exotic columns, ornate archways, and ceiling fans round out the mansion theme.
The three styles
The Moroccan set brings arched doorways, ornate tile patterns, and warm-toned exteriors. Art Deco pieces lean into geometric lines and decorative metalwork. The Second Empire set adds mansard roofs, dormer windows, and distinctly French facades. All three styles span multiple object categories, from structural pieces down to decorative accents.
Pre-made lots
Three residential lots and one community lot come pre-built in the pack. These work as playable starting points or as references for building your own mansion-style lots.
Create a Sim and audio
A handful of new hairstyles are included, along with new tracks on the in-game Pop music station.
Release dates
Mansion & Garden Stuff launched on November 14, 2008 in Europe and Australia, and November 17, 2008 in North America. It was a PC-only release from EA and Maxis.
Where to play it now
The pack was originally sold as a standalone disc. It is now included in The Sims 2 Legacy Collection, which bundles the base game with every expansion and stuff pack. The Legacy Collection is available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
