The Sims 2: IKEA Home Stuff was the second branded stuff pack for The Sims 2, following The Sims 2: H&M Fashion Stuff. Released in June 2008, it was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts in collaboration with IKEA, the Swedish furniture company.
Every item in the pack is modeled after a real product from the IKEA catalog, making it one of the more unusual entries in The Sims 2 lineup.
What's in the pack
IKEA Home Stuff includes 76 buy mode objects spread across three room categories: living rooms, bedrooms, and home offices. Specific IKEA product lines featured in the pack include the EKTORP sofa, EXPEDIT TV unit, MALM bed, LEKSVIK coffee table, and LACK wall shelf. Smaller items round out the collection, from the KILA desk lamp and HELMER drawer unit to the STORM floor lamp, IKEA PS rug, and VANNA mirror.
The items lean decorative and functional. There are no new gameplay mechanics, career paths, or life states. This is strictly a furniture and decor pack, and it does that one job well.
The IKEA collaboration
IKEA Home Stuff was one of two real-brand stuff packs released for The Sims 2, alongside the earlier H&M Fashion Stuff. Both packs turned real-world product catalogs into in-game objects, a concept EA would not repeat in later generations of the series.
The partnership clearly resonated in IKEA's home market. After launch, the pack became the second best-selling game in Sweden for two consecutive weeks.

Looking back
For players revisiting The Sims 2 today, IKEA Home Stuff is a niche addition. The 76 items fill a specific gap in the base game's furniture catalog with a clean, modern Scandinavian look that still holds up in screenshots. It is not included in The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection that was distributed through Origin, though community fixes exist.
