What is inZOI

inZOI is a life simulation game where players shape the lives of characters called Zois. Developed by inZOI Studio and published by KRAFTON, the game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and launched into Early Access on Steam in March 2025. Zois live autonomously based on their personalities and experiences, producing unexpected developments like rumors, neighborhood trends, and the spread of illness.

Gameplay takes place across open-world neighborhoods inspired by real locations. Players direct their Zois through point-and-click or direct control, and a City Edit mode lets you reshape weather, properties, and streets to match the story you want to tell.

Character creation and Canvas

The character creator offers over 250 customization options covering hair, body type, complexion, facial features, and clothing. AI-powered tools let you type text prompts to generate custom patterns for outfits, props, and furniture, convert 2D images into 3D in-game objects, and create character animations from uploaded video.

Canvas is the built-in sharing platform where players upload and browse characters, homes, and other creations from the community. You can follow creators and download their work directly into your game.

Life simulation

Zois go through careers, education, relationships, families, skill-building, aging, and death. The v0.9.0 update introduced active high schools with classes, clubs, and prom, alongside clothing store businesses and an experimental first-person mode. Building tools handle homes, outfits, and community lots with a wide range of architectural styles.

The developer diaries published after that update outlined a continued focus on base game stability and planned features still to come during the Early Access period.

Modding and community

inZOI supports community modding through an official ModKit. A built-in cheats system is available from the guide menu. The inZOI Discord has tens of thousands of active members, and KRAFTON maintains a dedicated forum for feedback and bug reports. The PS5 version has been delayed to the first half of 2027 to accommodate console-specific controls and UI redesign.
