A tropical island world
Sunlit Tides is a world for The Sims 3 sold through the official Store, released on 23 August 2012. The island setting blends a modern downtown with lush jungle, exotic bungalows, and waterfront vacation homes nestled between the ocean and a lagoon. The world contains 86 lots spread across six zones, ranging from small 20Γ20 parcels to large 64Γ64 properties.
Multiple pre-made families populate the island, including the Pleasant family. Each household has its own backstory and relationships to discover. The world also introduces new rabbit holes alongside community venues such as parks, beaches, fishing spots, gyms, libraries, and shops.
Standard and Gold edition content
The standard edition includes the Steam-It-Up Sauna, a gameplay object offering hydrotherapy sessions, mud baths that can age a Sim down by one day, steamed vegetable preparation, and steam experiences. The sauna supports couple interactions including WooHoo. Both editions come with over 40 new items covering tropical clothing, hairstyles, and decor.
The Gold edition bundles the world with the Serenity Retreat, a spa venue featuring tranquil waters and gardens. It also adds the Infinite Zen Massage Table, which provides five massage types (deep tissue, hot stone, Swedish, romantic, and acupuncture), and the Keep Me Clean Outdoor Shower.
Lot sizes and layout
The 86 lots cover a wide range of sizes: 7 at 20Γ20, 6 at 20Γ30, 18 at 30Γ30, 14 at 40Γ40, 5 at 40Γ50, 8 at 50Γ50, 7 at 64Γ64, and 21 odd-sized lots. Community venues are placed across the island, including beach areas for parties, fishing spots near the coast and inland waterways, and a relaxation station with pools at the world's highest point.
