An Italian-inspired world
Monte Vista is the seventh world released through The Sims 3 Store, set in an Italian countryside of rolling hills and a coast that opens onto the sea. The world launched as a digital download in December 2012, with a retail and Origin release following in January 2013.
The town features villas with sweeping views, museums, piazzas, and 13 rabbit hole venues. There are 20 unpopulated houses ready for new households, along with several pre-made families. The Monty family returns from Veronaville in The Sims 2, joined by other households including the Mancini, Pantalone, Romano, Rossi, and Russo families.
The wood fire oven
Monte Vista's premium content is the wood fire oven, a cooking appliance available for 1,200 Simoleons. It offers 13 recipes ranging from country bread and breakfast calzones to wood-fired lasagna and combination pizza margherita. Recipes scale up to cooking skill level 7. The oven introduces special interactions for occult Sims: werewolves can tuck into meat-based calzones, while garlic-infused dishes affect vampires. Moodlets tied to the oven include Freshly Baked, Mamma Mia, Calzone Carnivore, and Garlic Allergy. Teens through elders can cook with it.
Create a Sim and build mode content
The world ships with Italian-themed hairstyles and outfits for male and female Sims, plus over 50 build and buy mode items. These include Tuscan-style doors, windows, and shutters, Mediterranean trees and vegetation, bistro furniture, and decorative road signs. Monte Vista was also sold alongside Hidden Springs in the Worlds Bundle retail package.
