A Victorian town with a horror-movie mood

Midnight Hollow is a Store world for The Sims 3, released on September 26, 2013. The setting draws from sleepy towns in classical monochrome horror movies, with a subdued sky and a color palette built around greys, blacks, dark browns, and dark reds. The world sits in a valley surrounded by mountains, with a central town area that branches out into five distinct neighborhoods.

Eccentric townsfolk have settled into this century-old Victorian town and made it a place they can call home. The backstory is narrated by Olive Specter, who welcomes Sims looking for somewhere they can be themselves without judgment. More than 20 pre-made households live across the world, including the Specter, Prince, Watts, Winchester, and Hyde families.

Business gameplay and the Savvy Seller's Collection

Midnight Hollow's gameplay focuses on running retail businesses. Sims can open and manage their own stores with set hours, and customers are automatically sent home one hour before closing. The standard edition includes the Savvy Seller's Collection, a set of gameplay objects designed around starting a business like an art gallery, vintage furniture boutique, or car showroom.

The Gold edition adds the Golden Ticket Toy Shop, a pre-built venue where Sims can run a toy store, along with the Titanic Toy Machine, an exclusive gameplay object for making and selling toys.

World layout and community venues

The world contains 92 lots across a range of sizes, from small 20x20 plots to large 64x64 properties, with 39 odd-sized lots mixed in. Community venues include the Moldy Missives Library, Antiquity Art Museum, Talentless Theatre, Pitch Park, Ghastly Graveyard, Blackish Fish Pond, and several cafés and shops. Build and buy items lean into the gothic Victorian style, including plants like Haunted Pansies that change appearance when placed in other worlds.

New Create-a-Sim clothing and accessories are included in both editions. The world requires the latest free game update to run.
