Performance careers
Showtime introduces three self-employment performance careers: singer, acrobat, and magician. Each one starts small, with Sims performing for tips on the street or at community lots, and builds toward sold-out shows at major venues. Singers take on sing-a-gram jobs between gigs and players can control song flow during stage performances. Magicians begin with street-corner tricks before progressing to full stage shows. Acrobats start out miming and juggling, then work their way up to fiery stunts. All three careers pay a weekly stipend on top of performance-based earnings at venues.
Starlight Shores
The expansion includes Starlight Shores, a new world inspired by Hollywood. The town is built around the entertainment industry and features performance venues ranging from coffeehouses and lounges to large stadiums and theaters. Sims looking to break into show business will find stages and audiences scattered across the neighborhood.
Stage customization and SimPort
Players can design custom stages using props, backdrops, lights, and special effects from the family inventory. Stage design has a direct effect on performance reviews and earning potential. Showtime also introduces SimPort, a social feature that lets players send their performing Sims on tour to a friend's game for around twelve hours, earning simoleons and unlocking item sets available only through SimPort collaboration.
Genies, skills, and new objects
Beyond careers and the new world, Showtime adds genies as an occult Sim type. Genies are summoned from magic lamps and can grant three wishes. The pack also brings hidden skills tied to new objects such as DJ tables, mechanical bulls, and pool tables, along with performance-focused traits like Natural Born Performer and new lifetime wishes built around the entertainment careers.
