Setting and story
Hidden Springs is a downloadable world for The Sims 3, released on 25 August 2011 through The Sims 3 Store. The world is set in a mountainside village surrounded by alpine peaks, a large lake, and dense forest. Celebrities and the wealthy flock here in search of relaxation and escape, drawn by rumors of miraculous healing powers hidden in the local woods and waters. The atmosphere leans into fairy tale and fantasy, with mysterious characters and unexplained phenomena woven through the neighborhood's backstory. One prominent storyline follows Francisca Vanderburg, a missing princess who reinvented herself as a writer in the secluded village.
World layout
The world contains 85 lots spread across three districts: Downtown, Hill West, and Hill East. Lot sizes range from compact 20×20 plots to large 64×64 parcels, giving players plenty of building space. Community venues include the Silver Zephyr Health Spa, the Museum of Magic and Supernatural, and the Hidden Gardens. The lakefront terrain and mountain scenery give Hidden Springs a distinctive look compared to other Sims 3 worlds. The world was also released on physical disc alongside Monte Vista as part of The Sims 3 Worlds Bundle.
Exclusive content and gameplay
The headline addition is Leon's Fountain of Youth, a premium object that can reverse a Sim's aging. It is available in Buy Mode at a cost of 495,000 Simoleons, making it one of the most expensive objects in the game. The world also ships with dozens of exclusive objects, clothing items, and hairstyles not found elsewhere. Pre-made households come with their own backstories, and if the Late Night expansion pack is installed, certain residents receive celebrity status. Hidden Springs arrived shortly after the Generations expansion, which did not include a new world of its own.
