A fantasy world with dragons and elven Sims
Dragon Valley is the ninth world released through The Sims 3 Store. It launched on May 30, 2013, and drops your Sims into a medieval-themed community where elven families have spent generations keeping local dragonlings small and under control. A central conflict between the Mithrilen and O'Connell households drives much of the neighborhood storyline, with both families competing for influence over the town.
The world ships with 23 pre-made families and 22 empty lots in sizes ranging from 20x20 to 64x64. Community venues spread across the map include a hospital, library, restaurant, theater, police station, military base, and several beaches and fishing spots.
Dragon types and abilities
Dragon Valley introduces baby dragons as collectible companions that Sims can hatch from eggs found in buy mode. Interacting with an egg, whether by picking it up or talking to it, starts the hatching process. Four dragon types are available, each with its own set of abilities:
- Red dragons shoot fireballs and grant a moodlet that maintains hygiene and energy
- Purple dragons can summon new Sims for instant friendships, teach charisma, and cast a rune charm for mood boosts
- Green dragons summon treasure on an hourly basis, harvest plants, and help with hunger and bladder needs
- Armored black dragons summon death flowers and ghosts, inflict a phantasmal curse, and support logic skill development
A Sim can keep up to four dragons in their inventory at once.
Editions and included content
Dragon Valley was offered in both a Standard Edition and a Gold Edition through The Sims 3 Store. The Gold Edition bundled additional SimPoints and the Celtic Lands set, an exclusive furniture collection only available with that package.
