What Town Life Stuff includes

Town Life Stuff, known as Byliv in Scandinavian markets, is the fourth stuff pack released for The Sims 3. It arrived in July 2011 with a focus on getting Sims out of the house and into the community. The pack contains 35 buyable objects and 5 build items, along with new casual clothing and hairstyles for everyday activities.

Town Life Stuff followed a busy stretch for The Sims 3. The Generations expansion and patch 1.22 had both arrived earlier that year, adding family gameplay and the shared memories system.

Community lots and rabbit holes

The pack introduces seven ready-made community lots that can be placed in any world. Three are rabbit holes: Par Excellence Preparatory School, Fresh and Frozen Express Grocer, and Scrumptious Nibbles Cafe. The remaining four are fully explorable lots: Sudsy Time Laundry, Mr. Crunches Fitness, Noble Tome Library, and Ray of Sunshine Park. Together they give neighborhoods a wider range of public spaces for Sims of all ages.

Objects and furnishings

Objects are grouped around four themes. Fitness items include the Power Burn Station and Finish Line Max 3000, both offering stress relief bonuses. Laundry items include an elite washing machine and dryer for home or community use. The library category adds bookshelves that provide bonuses to cooking, handiness, and logic skills, along with specialized sectional seating for study cubicles. For younger Sims, there are playground pieces including a jungle gym, slide, clubhouse, sandbox, and spring riders with fun values ranging from 3 to 8.

Build mode additions include new doors, columns, decorative panes, and windows.

Clothing and hairstyles

The pack includes casual outfits and hairstyles for adults and children. The clothing covers styles suited to running errands, working out, and hanging out around town.
