What Barnacle Bay adds
Barnacle Bay is the second downloadable world released through The Sims 3 Store, first available on 23 September 2010. It places your Sims on a moderately temperate island originally settled by pirates, fishermen, and artists. The world contains 93 lots of varying sizes, 57 pre-made Sims, over 25 NPCs, and 16 households ready to play. Among the returning faces is the Caliente family, familiar to longtime Sims players.
The world also ships with 20 exclusive objects and clothing items, most of them pirate-themed. These include furniture pieces, decorative items like a life preserver and tavern sign, a pirate mailbox, a founding crew statue, and six clothing pieces. A Buccaneer's Bounty Set is bundled with the world.
Island locations and landmarks
Barnacle Bay leans into its seafaring history through its community lots and landmarks. Hogan's Deep Sea Diner is built inside a pirate ship and serves as both a restaurant rabbit hole and a culinary career venue. The Wanderer's Watering Hole is the island's main social hangout, while Smuggler's Beach and Founder's Beach offer waterfront scenery with abandoned piers.
For exploration, Pirate's Hideaway and Goldbeard Galleon Gallery give Sims places to visit, and Ophelia's Fishing Hole is one of several dedicated fishing spots spread across the island. Multiple locations spawn rare fish, metals, and insects for collectors.
World layout and lot variety
The island's 93 lots range from small 20x20 plots to a single 64x64 lot. The breakdown includes 2 lots at 20x20, 12 at 20x30, 28 at 30x30, 20 at 30x40, 13 at 40x40, 4 at 60x60, and 13 odd-sized lots, giving builders and players a wide range of options for both residential and community builds.
