Early Access and update cadence

Paralives entered Early Access on Steam on May 25, 2026, with a development window expected to run roughly two years toward a 1.0 release targeted for 2028. Since launch, developer Paralives Studio has shipped patches at a near-weekly pace, starting with version 0.1.2 four days after release and continuing through 0.1.3 in early June and a substantial July 2nd update. Every update during this period is free, and the studio has committed to a no-paid-DLC model throughout Early Access.

The months from June through September 2026 are dedicated to hotfixes, performance work, and quality-of-life improvements rather than major new gameplay systems. Recent patches have addressed memory leaks, reduced save file sizes from roughly 500 MB to 30 MB, added Steam Cloud sync, introduced rolling autosaves, and opened up in-game appearance editing through mirrors.

Roadmap and planned features

The first major content update is scheduled for Q4 2026, though the studio has not confirmed which features it will include. The published roadmap lists weather and seasons, pools, basements, pets (dogs, cats, and horses created in the Paramaker), vehicles, boats, gardening, fishing, family trees, NPC story progression, social events, town editing tools, and expanded personality and career options among the planned additions.

Build mode is set to gain curved-wall windows and doors, advanced roof and stair tools, and lake and pond construction. The Paramaker will eventually support pet creation and an advanced genetics editor. A supernaturals concept appears on the roadmap with an "unsure" label, meaning the studio is interested but has not committed to shipping it.
